1979, The Tappan Company, Hardcover with no dust jacket as issued. This cookbook is filled with over 400 beautifully photographed and tasty recipes, and 650 color photos of easy "how to" techniques and all kinds of tips.
This is a replacement for the cookbook I got with my first microwave in the late 80's. It is full of good tips and simple guides as well as good recipes. At first, I was frustrated with the book because it is not arranged like most cookbooks, by the order in the meal, ie. appetizers first and desserts last. I took me a bit of getting used to but it finally got through my head that it is arranged alphabetically. I used the glue on tabs to mark the sections and have had little trouble since then.Microwaves don't seem to be as popular as they were, but I had a period of 22 years when I did not have a reliable stove, so I learned how to make nearly everything (except yeast bread) in the microwave. I still use it a lot and therefore, I still use this cookbook a lot. There is a larger Microwave Cookbook, it had a white cover, that had more recipes and tips, but for everyday microwave cooking, this is a good book to have.
