Well-made product at a reasonable price. My favorite use is to lay the mat on a plate, then put my bowl of food on the mat before I pop it all in the microwave. When my BOWL of food is HOT, I can very easily and SAFELY reach for the cool plate to take my food out of the MW---and the bowl of hot contents will not slip and slide around on the cool plate. The bowl stays gripped in place, and I don't get burned fingers by touching the bowl (or have a worse disaster of spilling hot food on myself!) Wonderful product, very easy to wipe or rinse any spills off of it. I keep them handy on a hook right near my dishes. Very glad I bought these!
