This item is to use in our rv as an extra shelf in a cupboard. When my husband went to assemble it the shelf section would not expand as it was pressed together so tight it would not come apart. He had to use cabinet clamps to separate the two pieces. The threaded holes for the screws had paint in them and one corner of the shelf had to be ground down so the legs would fit on the shelf. It took about an hour to get it together. Not an easy assembly for the average person.I almost returned this shelf due to the following:1) screws need to be 3/4"...they provided (2)1" and (6) 1/4"2) None of the holes align well3) 2 of the holes have metal scoring that needs to be removed so the screw can go through all the way4) kit provided an allen wrench that doesn't even fit the screw heads in the kit.--you will need additional tools to assemble.I did get it together, but only after I purchased different screws from the hardware store and also used a metal file for the holes that needed it....using my own tools to assemble it.It does look great and holds a printer on top and doesn't shake while printing.Makes my small kitchen much more organizedPackage was really messed up when it was delivered. Since the rack was metal, I figured the rack would be okay. When I tried to put it together, the shelve would not expand. It was jammed together and nobody could get it to slide to the correct size. Since it was jammed couldn’t even use it as just shelve because the holes for the screws were not fully exposed. I tried to contact the company but it was a Goggle number and no company name was mentioned. I just gave it up and am sending it back to Amazon and ordering a different one. From now on if it isn’t Prime I will not order!I wanted this to be work so badly. But, the product I received was not well made. None of the spots for screws aligned so I couldn’t put it together. The black was a really nice matte, though. It seemed sturdy. Sadly I had to return and go a different route.This piece is so basic it looks industrial. It's sturdy but ugly. And it's a hot mess to put together.I've gotten a lot of cheap Amazon furniture over the years but this one really takes the cake.
