My Wife has used the first smaller version wrap for over 3 years now. When our Granddaughter would visit, she would often use the wrap and my Wife would not have use of it. We purchased one as a gift for our Granddaughter about 1 1/2 years ago and although she loves it and uses it at home, she would still use my Wife's when she visited.We decided to get another wrap so when our Granddaughter would visit my Wife would still have one to use since she uses it almost daily, sometimes several times a day. While researching the various types that are now available she decided to order the larger or longer down the back version and this one is filled with flax seed rather than rice.She has had this new wrap for about a month now and really likes the extra coverage it provides down her back. She did say that whether it is due to the larger size or that it is filled with flax seed, it seems to take a bit longer to heat in the microwave than the smaller rice filled version but that is the only thing she found that is different from the other shorter version.In addition to providing heated warmth to her shoulders and upper back, she often pulls one of the front sections up and holds it against her jaw which helps with TMJ that often flairs up. Definitely a great product and most likely will be purchasing a 4th in the months ahead so our Granddaughter's family will be able to use one since she, like my wife, almost uses it daily.Purchased three Sunny Bay rice-filled microwavable heating pads around Christmas 2015. Our whole family experienced the benefits these items provide. The warm moist heat will melt away severe headaches, low back & neck pain. These products are a must have for those who suffer from migraines.That’s where the honeymoon ended. Last night, upon heating the Sunny Bay Microwavable Shoulder and Upper Back Heat Wrap for 3 minutes, it caught on fire burning three holes in its outer protective cover. To say the least, this is very concerning and not typical in my experience of using rice-filled heating pads for over a decade.I reached out to Amazon for help resolving the matter and was severely disappointed when they would not replace the defective item right away. Instead, they directed me to contact the manufacture for warranty assistance. Upon agreeing to do so, I requested Sunny Bays warranty department phone number and/or website. Amazons customer service representative, who is a supervisor and part of Amazons leadership team, initially replied “I'm unable to locate the contact info.” What a joke! Finally, after about 10-15 minutes the supervisor provided the information. So much for the foundational business skill of delighting ones’ customer. If I were able to, Amazon would receive a zero for their customer service resolution skills.Current Status:As of 3/17/17 @ 9:25 AM EST, I left a voicemail with the manufacture to see if the can resolve the matter better then Amazon.Final Resolution:As of 3/17/17 @ 12:30 PM EST, Manufacturer promptly returned my call and offered a free replacement cover since the actual heading pad was still intact. I changed my rating from one star to three stars. Company said maximum heating time should be one minute forty seconds. That is only luke warm for me... I like it much hotter than that. Also they said this shoulder and upper back heating pad is filled with flax seeds and the other two heating pads I purchased are filled with rice...Thanks,MarkSize: The medium might be a good fit for the willowy gal in the picture, but for a guy, like me who wears M size shirts, etc., it is a tad too small (tho usable; just gotta scrunch it around a bit for shoulder pain). The Large is double the cost, so No Way. I was going to send it back (Prime) but my wife, a S size in women's clothes tried it and . . . so it aint going back, I guess.Note on heating it in microwave. Following the instructions is tedious (on/off, on/off) but considering the consequences, do it. It takes about three or four minutes of this and it is warm enough to last for about fifteen minutes or so (no longer!). Microwave SIZE: Unless you have a very big commercial size microwave you'll have to roll or fold this up a little to fit.Odor: Not bad (and I have an aversion to smelly things). A little bit like a clean, wet puppy, or at worst a barely used athletic sock. Really not a problem. Much.The cover: Nice soft cottony feel, and tho it's washable, I wouldn't even try to wiggle the inner pad out of the one small space in the fabric. Kinda like put ting your leg through a long shirt sleeve--doable, but not fun. I wouldn't put this thing on my bare skin (after all, it came out of a mill, or something), so I keep a shirt on or use a light towel underneath the pad. Works ok.If your shoulder and back hurts, this beats the electric pad that tethers you to one spot. My wife likes it and uses it. I gotta find something else cuz I can't get it back from her now.This is the 4th Sunny Bay wrap we have purchased. My Wife uses hers several times a day and often sits with it on her neck and back while watching TV in the evening. We had this size at first but then purchased a larger one for her to cover a bigger area of her back.The 3rd wrap was given to our Daughter and her family and our oldest Granddaughter laid claim to it and everyone else cannot pry it from her. Our Daughter told us that if we needed some ideas for Christmas gifts, this was one of them. We decided to give them my Wife's older wrap for now and ordered this new one as one of their Christmas gifts.If reorders are any indication of how good a product is, then take it from me that this is a definitely good product that delivers what is advertised.I have this product for only 3 days. I ordered one for my mom because it was on sale and I liked it too.its very comforting and I already feel it works.no smell, no leakage.holds the heat pretty well. Customer service answered my questions that I can share with uI asked how long this product will last. ?Is there any special treatment we have to give to make it last longer?answered I have mine for many years. I burnt one one time so I learned not to overheat it. It smells bad and the bad smell never goes away. I have a customer who overheat the wraps. The product tag becomes gum-like. She had a lot of problems with the thread breaking. You can imaging that the threads can be weakened after it was overheated the wrap so much when the tyvek paper turned in to gum.I believe if you are careful not to overheat it, it can last a long time.Askedthe material that flax seed is in it looks very weak and I am worried that get rotten and makes hole. How strong is that material?Answered,We used the best quality cotton we can buy. It is pretty strong.Size, I got lorge one, im an average woman.it covers my shoulders and half back.I love that the inner sac has many stitches that holds the seeds in place.i wrap it around my shoulder and do my house work, feed and hold and play with my baby.he likes it too I guess, the outer cover is soft and cozy, easy to remove .I hope it lasts at least one year!!I add a drop of lavender that bought from amazon.ca on it and feel im in spa.i dont know why I love it.i bought one for my mom .I hope she likes it too!Works good but cools off rather quickly
