We had an old microwave pan that we decided to scrap and update to a new pan. The old pan was much thicker and heavier. When it was heated and food was placed on it the pan would brown the bottom of the food. The new pan dosen't brown even when you preheat, the food may sizzle when it is placed on the pan but that's about it. The pan looses heat rapidly to the food. Adding more time only dries the food. I can cook a hamburger patty faster on a paper plate than using this ineffective pan and less time to cook dries the food less. This is the second microwave pan I bought (different seller) with the same results. Conclusion is the new thinner pans are not as good as the older thicker pans. Next I will try a US made pan see if it is better.The item arrived on time. It is working well and just as I had expected. The unit was replacing a similar pan I had had for a year but developed a gouge in the surface exposing metal. I use the new unit basically for warming up already cooked food. It works well with leftover pizza. I'm happy.I should’ve bought this a long time ago. The quality of this product is excellent. It’s heavy and seems very well-made. No more soggy pizza or french fries. Frankly I use it for a lot of reheating. How can you go wrong for $10?Works great for warming pizza. Keeps it crispy, doesn’t get soggyBasically what this pan does, is to provide more convection heat from the bottom. It is a useful feature. A regular plate is usually mildly warm, or sometimes very hot, depending on how long you leave it in the oven. This plate can get really hot, much hotter than a regular plate, so more heating takes place from the bottom. Seems to work a lot better when using 33% to 50% rather than full power. That way you will allow more time for the heat from the bottom of the pan to heat the food. Its a pretty good product to have. Certainly a lot better than not having it.It worked well but not as well as the 12 inch. Preheating with nonstick spray is essential. Both pans would be great if they had top handles for transferring in and out of the microwave.waste of money does NOT crisp up fries or fish sticks or fish fillets, nor meat such as hamburger - this is collecting dust on the shelfDoes not keep items crisp or crunchy :(Tried numerous times.
